Meet the dedicated coaches behind our unique coaching programme 

All our coaches are FA/UEFA qualified, fully insured, fully DBS checked with up to date emergency aid & safeguarding certificates.
Oxfordshire Skill Acquisition Academy knows that employing the right quality staff is the key to providing all players with the best professional coaching experience. Our coaching staff dedicates their time, knowledge and experience to each individual aiming to create highly talented players technically, tactically, mentally and physically.  They are passionate and committed to developing young players and work hard to provide all players with a comprehensive football education in all aspects of the game both on and off the field of play. All coaches follow our unique elite coaching programme and benefit from ongoing workshops designed especially for OSA Academy coaches.   

Adam Bowerman

Founder & Academy Director - UEFA B Licence

Adam’s first steps in football came as youth player enjoying 6 seasons between Southampton FC & Oxford United’s academy programmes, followed with a two year scholarship at Oxford United before being released at the age of 18.

Adam had an ambition to stay in the game and quickly went on to gain the UEFA B Licence and coach within the academy, elite development & community departments at Oxford United. Spending time within the academy Foundation and Youth Development phases is where he gained invaluable experience and developed a passion for player development

Adam spent the summer of 2012 coaching in Spain on international holiday camps with players aged 5-14 and most recently travelled to Malta in 2019 to deliver an international camp at Fgura United FC. His other overseas coaching experiences include the Ajax of Amsterdam training award. 

Whilst working with all age groups & sessions within OSAA, Adam is also coaching within the Pre Academy Phase at Southampton FC. 

Coaching Qualifications Include – UEFA B Licence, FA Youth Modules 1 & 2, LMA – Creating a Culture of Excellence, LMA – Identifying Potential Talent, FA Talent ID Level 1 & PFSA Talent ID Level 2. 


Josh Miller

Currently Studying UEFA B Licence

 Josh joined our coaching team in the summer 2022 and is currently undertaking his UEFA B Licence. 

He has held coaching roles at both Northampton Town and Oxford United’s community departments, as as well as managing Brackley Town U15s, Southam Uniteds U18s and working as a coach mentor in the U.S alongside various other coaching opportunities. 

He has previously been an Academy and Pre Academy coach at Northampton Town as well as his role within our coaching programme. 

Tom Briggs

UEFA B Licence

Tom’s coaching background includes experiences at Hartpury College and Cardiff Met University, where he achieved a first class with honours in BSc Sport & Physical Education in 2019.

He is currently an Academy coach at Oxford United, and delivers his own private training alongside coaching in the Junior Premier League.

Connor Walton

Currently Studying UEFA B Licence 

Connor has been coaching/teaching sport since the age of 16 working in various primary and secondary schools across the Oxfordshire and Hampshire regions. In 2020 he gained a football studies degree from Southampton Solent University, whilst studying for his degree he was working in partnership with the Hampshire FA creating football and sports initiatives in and around the area. 

He has been coaching football for 6 years teaching various age groups throughout that time. Outside of his coaching with OSA, he spends his time as head of performance analysis for North Leigh FC 1st team, running his own 1-1 sessions and also coaching a grassroots team. 

Alongside Connors coaching career he has achieved qualifications and various awards through the Professional Football Scouting Association, Sport Leaders, The FA and Performance Analysis UK.

Ryan Clarke

Junior Premier League Goalkeeping Coach

Former Oxford United goalkeeper. Clarkey made 232 appearances for Oxford United and was voted player of the year in 2010 after gaining promotion back to the football league. 

He brings huge experience to our coaching staff having played professionally at a number of clubs making more than 400 appearances during his career. 

Clarkey currently delivers sessions for our JPL GKs and GK specific half term sessions.
